With nearly two decades of experience, the studio has successfully created, developed, and distributed iconic animated properties, which have reached audiences across more than 130 countries. Animasia Studio is founded in Kuala Lumpur, setting the stage for a global creative journey.

2006

Bola Kampung becomes Malaysia’s first IP sponsored by Coca-Cola, a groundbreaking partnership.

2007

Awarded MSC Status with 10-year tax perks, official recognition for creative excellence.

2008

Bola Kampung makes Malaysian history by premiering on Disney Channel for the first time.

2009

Co-production deal for “Balla Bowl” feature film, premiering 2010 on Cartoon Network India

2010

Achieved ISO 9001 certification and launched Supa Strikas as our first hire project.

Entered Malaysia Book of Records for creating the Biggest Inflatable Mascot ever built.

Released Bola Kampung: The Movie, our first full-length animated film in cinemas.

Group Managing Director

Edmund Chan

Edmund has over 18+ years of experience building original animation IPs (Chuck Chicken, Harry & Bunnie) from Malaysia, and he is the co-founder and Group Managing Director of Animasia Studio, a specialised studio in development, production and distribution of kids content. His expertise includes structuring international co-production, fund raising for projects, and managing production incentives for qualifying projects produce under the Film In Malaysia Incentives (FIMI). With the expansion of a subsidiary, Animasia Los Angeles was incorporated to facilitate greater partnership with North American Producers and Creators to collaborate with Asian studios to better unlock competitive resources that's available in the East. Edmund holds a Double Degree in Business Marketing and International Trade from Victoria Melbourne University, Australia

Raye Lee

Co-Founder and Executive Director of Animasia Studio & Kid Smith, Raye spearheads the Global Licensing and Distribution division, manages client relationships, and oversees Intellectual Property (IP) management. He is also the President of Kelab Gasing Beyblade, a project venture under Beyblade Sdn Bhd that is building a dynamic, growing community dedicated to bringing the excitement of Beyblade battles to schools across Malaysia. A distinguished graduate of Victoria University, Australia, Raye holds a Double Specialized Degree in Business Marketing and International Trade.

ahLoong is the Chief Operating Officer at Animasia Studio, a leading entertainment studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with almost two decades of experience in animation. He has produced over 300 episodes, including award-winning shows like "The 7th Night: MaoMao Revisits," "Bola Kampung," "Supa Strikas," and "ABC Monsters." Notably, "Bola Kampung" transitioned from a TV series to Animasia's first 3D Stereoscopic animated feature film. "The 7th Night: MaoMao Revisits" stands out as a multiple award-winner, showcasing Ah Loong's international acclaim. His leadership has propelled Animasia to become a global creative content producer, with a remarkable portfolio of successful projects.
