Animasia Studio Turns 19: A Night of Celebration, CreatingMemories and Looking Ahead
On 25th July 2024 marks another milestone for Animasia Studio where we proudly celebrated our 19thAnniversary, making it nearly 2 decades of excellence in the animation industry. From humble beginnings to becoming a leading force in Southeast Asia’s creative landscape.
Our journey over the past 19 years has been filled with countless achievements, including the creation of beloved animated series, successful collaborations locally as well as globally and the growth of a talented team that continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and animation. This was not just a celebration of our past but also a moment to look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
In honour of this significant milestone, we hosted a special Annual Dinner on 26thJuy 2024 at Eight Gourmets Gala (EGG),Sunway Pyramid. We brought together our team, collaborators and partners together to celebrate our shared successes while reminiscing on the journey that has brought us here today. It was a night filled with engaging games, joyous laughters and fun-filled memories.

BEYBLADE X SEA Cup 2024: Uniting Partners, Showcasing Skills, and Celebrating 25 Years of Legacy
The BEYBLADE X SEA Cup G1Tournament, held from 15th to 21st July2024 at Sunway Pyramid, was a momentous occasion in the BEYBLADE community, marking not only the first major cross-region competition since the launch of BEYBLADE X in 2023 but also celebrating BEYBLADE’s 25thanniversary.
Leading up to the SEA cup, each country in the SEA region hosted local G1 events to select their top competitors to compete on an international stage. These bladers stand a chance to bring national pride by representing their countries. All participants from Junior category to Open category battled with such finesse and show cased an unforgettable display of skill and strategy.
One major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) between TAKARATOMY, ADK Emotions Inc., Animasia Studio, and One Universal Production. This strategic partnership aims to expand the BEYBLADE brand across SEA region by hosting larger scale events, engaging with the local fanbase, and driving strategic marketing initiatives over the next three years, with Litt Tak Sdn Bhd as the official toy distributor in Malaysia.
The BEYBLADE X SEA Cup was not just a competition; it was a celebration of the BEYBLADE community. It is their passion and competitive spirit that has driven the brand’s success over the past 25 years. Big Collaboration Alert: Animasia Studio, Bawah Tanah and Komet Productions Team Up for 2025’s Must-See Release
Together with Bawah Tanah Sdn Bhd, we are thrilled to announce an exciting collaborative partnership with Komet Productions Sdn Bhd. This strategic partnership aims to elevate our upcoming IP, Kisah Bawah Tanah, to greater heights.
Kisah Bawah Tanah is an animated horror-comedy series that features reimagined Southeast Asia region folklores. This series is currently in production and is set to debut in 2025 which will bring to it’s audience 26 11- minute episodes in the 1st season.
Komet Productions is led by industry veteran Ahmad Izham Omar. He views Kisah Bawah Tanah as a pivotal step in maturing Malaysian animation beyond the children’s market.
In addition, Komet will be playing a key role in expanding the IP through strategic marketing efforts such as licensing, promotions, distribution, and merchandising.

Animasia Studio Returns to MYDCF 2024 Showcasing KisahBawah Tanah and Bola Kampung with Exclusive Merchandises
For the 2nd consecutive year, Animasia Studio is thrilled to be part of the Malaysia Digital Content Festival (MYDCF) 2024. This annual event will take place from 13th to 15th September 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). MYDCF is a combination of digital content events initiated by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) as a platform to showcase the best of local Malaysian digital content and works from the SEA region to the industry and public.
Our participation this year will be to bring spotlight to 2 of our IPs – the ongoing production Kisah Bawah Tanah and our classic fan favourite Bola Kampung.
Kisah Bawah Tanah is a groundbreaking new local Malaysian animation series that is set to debut in 2025. There will be an exclusive opportunity for industry professionals and fans to meet the talented creators behind this highly anticipated series. We are also excited to revive “Bola Kampung”, a beloved IP that holds a special place in the hearts of many fans across Malaysia and Indonesia. This event marks a significant step in our efforts to bring “Bola Kampung back to the forefront, reintroducing it to long-time fans while also capturing the interest of a new generation. With fresh content and exciting updates, we are confident that “Bola Kampung” will continue to inspire and entertain audiences.
Further more, we will be featuring an array of exclusive merchandises for both Kisah Bawah Tanah and Bola Kampung. From apparel to unique collectibles, this is a chance for collectors and fans to bring home a piece of the worlds we are creating.
