Animasia Studios team poses with Pilla-Scheetz Productions team

Animasia Animation Studio, a world-class 2D animation production studio based in Malaysia, has partnered up with USA’s Pilla-Scheetz Productions to develop the 2D animated concept The Nine Lives of Claw into a multi-platform brand consisting of animated series, mobile games and toy line merchandises.

To kick off development work, Jay Lender of Spongebob Squarepants and Phineas & Ferb has been appointed and the producers are targeting MIP Junior 2017 to screen the pilot episode.

Edmund Chan, Managing Director of Animasia Studio, said, “This co-production will create great synergies between both parties to contribute their expertise in content development and distribution, and we are extremely happy to have Pilla-Scheetz Productions (PSP) and Jay Lender coming on board for the project.”

Meanwhile, Gary Pilla, Co-creator of The Nine Lives of Claw, expressed that, “We needed world-class animation, and an equally creative team we could believe in. As it turns out, we’ve partnered with a studio producing some of the best 2D animation in the world. They’re also experts at multi-channel content development and distribution.”

The Nine Lives of Claw focuses on the lives of Claw, a sarcastic superhero cat, Edison, the overzealous genius mouse sidekick, and Purrfessor Purrnelope, the ambitious kitty. The trio goes on hilarious adventures to battle the evil MUTT (Malicious Unleashed Thugs and Thieves) and other villains in order to maintain the harmony of the fair city of Anonymous.

Animasia, along with Pilla-Scheetz Productions, are currently working hard on revamping the characters and design concepts before production for the first episode begin next month.
